Run large format tile floor to ceiling and every joint is on display. The substrate has to be floated flat before the first sheet goes up, and the pattern should be dry laid so the layout lands correctly at the niche and the corners rather than finishing on a two inch sliver.
Old houses hide old plumbing
Cast iron waste lines and galvanised supply are common in pre war San Gabriel Valley homes. If we open a wall and find them, replacing them is usually the right call while the wall is already open, and it is much cheaper now than in five years.
Order long lead items before demo
The most common reason a bathroom drags on is a fixture or a slab that was ordered late. We place those orders before demolition starts so the schedule is not held hostage to a delivery date.

Do I need a permit to remodel a bathroom?
If you are moving plumbing, altering electrical, or changing framing, generally yes. Replacing a vanity and a mirror in the same footprint is usually a different situation. Unpermitted work reliably surfaces when you sell. We confirm the specifics with the local building department first.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Usually measured in weeks rather than months. What extends a job is almost always a permit or inspection wait, a late long lead item, or something found during demolition.
