Michael is from Liverpool, England. He learned the trade there, where the tolerance on a finished wall, a joint and a reveal is tighter than a lot of what gets built here, and he brought that standard to California with him.
It shows up in the parts clients notice last and remember longest. Tile that lines up at the corners. Grout joints the same width across a whole wall. Doors that shut the same way in August as they do in January. None of that is visible in a photograph taken from the doorway. All of it is visible when you live in the room.
He founded MKW Homes with one rule, which is to tell people the truth about what a job takes and then go and do it. That includes saying no. If a project is not work we are right for, we will say so at the estimate rather than three weeks into it.

Four people, and they are on your job until it is done. We do not run three sites at once and rotate a crew between them, so your project never sits with nobody on it.

We do not juggle sites
We run one four person crew and take one job at a time. The most common reason a residential project stalls for a week is a crew that got pulled to another site. That does not happen here, because there is no other site.
The site gets cleaned daily
A remodel is weeks of people in your house. We sweep up and stage materials at the end of the day so you are not living in a debris field. It costs us time and it is worth it.
Michael is on your job
The person who quotes your project is the person who runs it. You are not handed off to a project manager you never met at the estimate. If there is a decision to make on site, the owner is there to make it.
